Roger Thornton

With an educational background in both arts and sciences, Roger Thornton began his career in marketing in 1982, promoting innovative air conditioning solutions to the building services industry. He joined broadcast and post production technology world leader Quantel as Head of Publicity in 1985 - a position he held until September 2015. Following the successful launch of SAM at IBC in 2015, the new name that brought together the best of Quantel and Snell technology, Roger Thornton left the company to set up his own marketing communications consultancy – ARTY Marcoms.

Roger served on the Board of the industry's vendor association, IABM, from 2006 to 2015, and was also a member of the IBC Exhibition Committee between 1990 and 2015. Roger was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the BKSTS in 2015.
